General Info
-You must be at least 18 years old to commission me.
-You must have payment and references ready within 24-48 hours of claiming a commission slot, or I may give your slot to someone else.
-When purchasing a digital commission, you’re paying me to perform a service to produce your request, and not digital art goods.
-Credit for art posted to public sites where possible is appreciated.
-You may not edit, or commission someone else to edit, a completed commission.
-Upon payment of the invoice, you are agreeing to all terms listed here and the work is bound by contract.
Contact
-You can contact me anytime at joostenfelix@gmail.com, and I encourage you to reach out with any questions, concerns, or requests for updates.
-If I am unable to contact you (i.e. you don’t respond to my emails/messages for 4+ weeks), I will refund you minus any work already completed.
-I do not tolerate harassment, rude/inappropriate language, abusive behaviour, etc. If I feel you are being inappropriate, the commission will be cancelled and refunded for any work not completed, and you may be blacklisted at my discretion.
-If you are unhappy with any aspect of the finished artwork, please let me know so we can come to a solution we can both be happy with.
Private & Anonymous Commissions
-Private commissions are unable to be posted online or in a portfolio. They require a fee to cover loss of exposure; this fee is typically 25% of the total commission price.
-If you don’t want to pay the fee, you can request that your commission be anonymous, meaning that I may post it online or in a portfolio, with your name listed as “anonymous client”.
-If you would like to request a commission be private or anonymous, please let me know upfront, so that I don’t end up sharing anything regarding your commission on social media.
Payment
-Payment must be ready within 24-48 hours of claiming a commission, or the slot may be given to another client at my discretion.
-I usually charge in USD, however Aussies have the option to pay in AUD. Just let me know before I send the invoice if you’d like to pay in AUD.
-Payments are made via Paypal invoices. Any personal information collected by Paypal upon payment of the invoice (e.g. legal name, address, etc.) is not used for digital commissions and always remains confidential.
-If you choose to pay through eCheque or direct bank transfer, I won’t begin work until payment has gone through. This can take up to a week.
-All commissions under $100 are to be paid upfront.
-Commissions over $100 may be paid in installments, just let me know if you’d prefer to pay in installments before I send the invoice.
-You may be charged a fee for any edits after the artwork is completed.
Refunds & Cancellations
-I have the right to cancel and refund a commission at any time, and am not obligated to give any explanation.
-You may not refuse a refund or cancellation. If I cancel the commission and issue a refund, and you refuse to accept it, I will consider the money a donation.
-If you wish to cancel your commission, you will be issued a full refund minus any work already completed.
References
-Please have references ready within 24-48 hours of claiming a commission. If you do not have existing references ready, please contact me directly before claiming a slot.
-You must give me clear and concise visual references and/or a description of the commission idea before I can give you a quote.
-In some cases, I may require visual references. If you’re unable to produce any, I may have to decline the commission.
-If your references contradict each other, please tell me which one to refer to, to avoid any extra edits. If you fail to inform me which reference to follow, I may require a fee for any edits made to the finished artwork to include whatever detail I misinterpreted.
-I may tweak colours from references to suit the mood of the artwork, at my discretion. If you want your character to be colourpicked, please let me know ahead of time and provide a flat colour reference with a palette.
Artist’s Rights
-I have the right to reject, refund, or cancel a commission without comment. I am not obligated to give any explanation.
-I may post sketches and works-in-progress to social media. If you don’t want me to do so (e.g. the commission is a gift for someone who might see it), just let me know ahead of time.
-I retain all rights to the commissioned artwork, including the right to display it in online galleries and websites, show step-by-steps or tutorials of how the work was made, and the right to make and sell prints and merchandise.
-I may reuse or recycle sketches, palettes, concepts, etc. that you rejected for your commission, either for other commissions or for my own works.
Commissioner’s Rights
-You retain all rights to your respective characters. This does not allow you rights to the commissioned artwork.
-You may not watermark, add colour/text to, or otherwise edit a completed artwork. If you want to edit an artwork, or get someone else to edit it, you must ask me for permission beforehand.
-You may not profit from my artwork. This includes the sale of digital files, or rights to the image. The only exception to this term is resale of physical original artworks, and applies to traditional media only.
Hosting
-I typically delete working files (files with layers etc. intact) within 6-12 months after the commission is completed and final versions are sent out.
-I keep a backup of completed commission files (with layers flattened) on a USB drive for a minimum of 1 year from sending them out.
-I will do my best to take care of the drive, however please be mindful that the drive may fail or be damaged, and your artwork files may be lost.

--Keychains are shipped via Standard Parcels by default.
Artwork add-on options
The cost for artwork add ons vary depending on the complexity of the addition and the finish of the artwork.
However for a general guide:
--Additional characters are typically around 60-80% of the price above.
--Familiars tend to be closer to 40% unless they're very large or complex, in which case they're treated as a second character.
--Props really varies on the design, typically 20-60%, however any sort of mobility aid is free of charge.
--Background elements are around 25% for simple backgrounds up to 50% for complex ones.
Additions such as text for badges or QR codes etc. are usually free.Keychain options
Keychains come in several sizes, from 1.5" up to 4". However the prices listed above are for 2" and 3" keychains, as these are the typical size for most keychains you'd find at a convention or store.
--If you'd like to increase the keychain size there is a fee of $5 USD per every inch your keychain increases by.
--Your order comes with three keychains. If you'd like any more, there is an additional fee of $5 USD per keychain to cover the manufacturing fee.
--You will be able to choose the clasp for your keychain from the graphic below. If for whatever reason the option you chose isn't available when I place the order, I'll let you know so you can request a different one.

Process Breakdown

The process is pretty simple, basically:1. Orders are taken - References are collected, notes are made, and invoices are sent off and paid.
Work begins
2. Sketches sent out - The first thing I'll do is send out work in progress sketches to each client of their commission. This is where you can request any major edits or note any missing details to help me make a finished artwork that you'll be happy with.
3. Work is completed over approx 6-8 weeks - I'll queue up work so that I'm not working on everyone's commission at once. My aim will be to complete approx 1-2 artworks per week until the keychain queue is complete.
4. Final drafts sent out - This is where you'll be able to request any last-minute edits for things I might have missed or anything I might have gotten wrong, before your keychain is printed.
Off to the printers
5. I send off work to the printers - Once all clients have confirmed they're happy with their final artworks I'll finalise the files and send them to the printers to be set up for printing.
6. Keychains are printed, cut, and assembled, then shipped to me - This entire process can take up to 3-4 weeks during busy periods. Once the keychains reach me I'll quality check each keychain and take photos for you to confirm that you're happy with them. Then:
7. Keychains are sent out to their owners all over the world. I'll send you a tracking number and ask you to let me know when it arrives. :-)

Keychain FAQ!

Are the keychains single sided or double sided?
--All keychains are double sided. They have the same artwork printed on both sides. One side has epoxy resin on the front to make a dome effect. You can request to have glitter or no glitter on the epoxy side. If you really want, you can request no epoxy at all. :-)
Can my keychain have a different artwork on the back? eg a back view, alt palette, etc.?
--Yes, but it will cost anywhere from 50-80% more depending on the type of artwork you'd like. If you're still interested, let me know and I'll quote you. :-)
Can I request a different finish on the keychain? eg holographic or coloured acrylic?
--You can! I don't offer different finishes to keep the process as streamlined and approachable as possible for new clients. However I'm happy to discuss different finishes if you like.
Can I place a large order for a lot of the same keychain, to either sell or give away to promote my brand, character, or business?
--Sorry, but these prices are for personal use only, for people who want a keychain of their favourite character or a loved one's pet, etc. I'm happy to place larger orders if you have a lot of friends who you want to give the keychains to, however if you're going to use them for giveaways as a way to gain followers or to promote your vtubing business etc. or to resell then please contact me directly to discuss a contract for commercial rights to the artwork.
Does my keychain have to be an OC? I want a keychain of a character from a fandom/my pet/me!
--I am happy to draw any of the above for your keychain. If you have a canon character you'd like me to draw, a fan character, a self insert, I'm all for it.
I'm also more than happy to draw your pet or you, however for artworks of real animals and people I typically require a few references at different angles to help get a feel for the subject in a 3d space. :-)

Queue

I keep a public queue of all current work on Trello. You can find a link to my current queue below. The Trello is typically updated at least once per week.If your commission has been paid for but you are not on the queue, please contact me directly!

About/Contact

My name is Felix and I'm a character artist from Australia. I'm a fat queer cat lover and I think that influences my work a lot.
My specialty is gay furries staring lovingly into each others eyes. If you'd like a commission, feel free to reach out anytime for a quote!

FAQ

Do you have a waitlist or pinglist I can join?
--Sorry, I don't keep any sort of waitlist or pinglist. You're welcome to reach out to me when commissions are closed for a quote, but I don't hold slots or send out notifications to potential clients when I open commissions.
What materials do you use?
--Big question. Let's break it down.
Digital Art - Ipad Pro 2nd gen with Procreate and a bunch of paid and free brushes I've downloaded over the years.
Traditional Art - Holbein Acryla Gouache, Faber-Castell Watercolour Pencils, PrismaColour Premier Coloured Pencils, various pens (highly recommend Sakura Microns for fineliners and Pentel for brush pens), Copic Markers, the list goes on..... If you want my honest opinion on traditional media recs, I think you should start with midrange stuff that you enjoy using instead of getting the most expensive stuff you can afford.
Sculpting - Fimo Air Basic (an affordable air dry clay) in white, my Acryla Gouache mentioned above, and sometimes a pencil to mark out where I want to put paint.
